I’ve never been a “brand loyal” kind of gal. When it comes to make up, my bag is mixed with so many different brands and styles. I decided last year as part of my “25 While 25” that I would start investing in better products – especially for my skin and face. Some products are worth the few extra bucks and some are a complete steal. Today i’ll share a few of my favorite eyeliners and mascaras.

SmashBox Limitless Eyeliner – I tried SmashBox products for the first time with the Try It Kit from Sephora. My favorite item in the kit was definitely the eyeliner. This stuff glides on so easily and STAYS PUT. This product is on the higher end of the price scale so I don’t wear it everyday. I usually wear it on days I will have to go straight from work to an event and need my makeup to still look good after a full day. Because of that the stick lasts quite a while; it is hard to sharpen though.
E.L.F Shimmer Eyeliner Pencil – I tried the product for the first time when I forgot my makeup bag while on a trip and had to run to Target and pick up a few things to survive the weekend. This stuff is great and it only cost $1! THAT’S ONE DOLLAR. I wear it all the time and it lasts pretty much all day. I do have to reapply if I wore it all day and i’m going out after work. But for the price I think it’s totally worth it. Oh, and it really isn’t shimmery – not in black anyway.
Benefit They’re Real – Let me just start by saying this is the best mascara I’ve ever used! I’d heard so much about it but couldn’t get myself to spend nearly $25 on mascara. After trying it the first time I could see what the hype was about. This stuff goes on and coats each lash really well so you don’t have to put on 10 layers of it. The brush is great for getting down in the corner lashes as well. It stays on all day and night and you definitely need makeup remover to get it off.
Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara – I got this as a sample when I bought face wash and moisturizer from Clinique. This stuff gives volume and definition with getting clumpy. I also noticed my lashes look really long but it doesn’t do much for curling them. This stays put pretty well and is easy to get off at night.
Are you brand loyal or do you like to mix and match? What’s your favorite mascara and eyeliner? I’d love to hear what you use!
