I’ve wanted a custom painting of Barkley for a while now. There are tons of artists out there who do amazing pet portraits, but the ones I found were way out of our budget. Recently, I found an app called Waterlogue that gives you beautiful water color images right from your iPhone! I picked out some of my favorite pictures of Mr. B and decided to try making my own DIY Pet Portrait.
After choosing the perfect picture and using the Waterlogue app to create a watercolor version, I teamed up with CanvasPop to have the picture printed on a high quality canvas. Just like that we had a quick, simple, and cheap alternative to costly custom art with our DIY Pet Portrait. CanvasPop had quick response time and got the canvas created, a proof sent over so I could see exactly what we were getting, and had it in our hands in just a few days. I loved the how friendly the company was and the detail the put into their work. The back of the canvas even has a sticker stating exactly who it was that assembled our canvas.
It’s easy to make your own DIY Pet Portrait! Feature your favorite furry friend in your home.
Hi Amber!
I love this, Barley’s portraits came out awesome, and well, it helps that the model is very “handsome” 🙂 My kids have wanted to have a portrait of our dogs and this is a great idea. By the way, I love your blog!
