I had an exceptionally good birthday! It’s pretty great having a sweet, loving HUSBAND to make it extra special. Eric did such a great job and I had a great time with friends. I loved that so many friends sent hand written cards; that never gets old. I also especially love snapchat: lots of happy birthday songs from my favorite people. I got to see Erin in town from Oklahoma and was suprised when Mandi showed up for lunch on Saturday! It may be one of my best birthdays yet.
- Read (at least!) 25 books. I have always loved reading, especially when I was younger but I haven’t made as much time for it.
- Volunteer more. This should be easy since I’m starting provisional membership with Junior League of Houston next year!
- Write handwritten sentiments. I so enjoyed getting birthday cards via snail mail and want to make my friends and family feel just as special.
- Go camping. Eric will love this one.
- Learn to cook. I’m not especially bad at cooking but I’m not especially good either.
- Try 25 NEW restaurants. Houston is HUGE and there are literally hundreds of restaurants. I need to stop going to all the same places and try something new.
- More YOGA. I’d like to get into the habit of a daily practice. Even if I can’t go to a class I need to learn to take some time in the morning or evening to fit it in.
- Get certified. I need to finish these IT certifications.
- Print my photo albums. I’ve wanted to make photo albums for my four years of college, our trip to Europe, etc. Well there’s no time like the present!
- Attend a concert. Another thing I did more when I was younger.
- Finish a 5K. I’m not even going to say RUN. Just finish and I’d be proud. I don’t run AT. ALL.
- Get our home in order. I know this is one that will always be a work in progress (as far as decorating goes).
- Craft more. This goes along with #12.
- Culture. Go to at least one: museum, art gallery, ballet, and theater performance.
- Improve my skin care routine. My skin won’t always be 25 so I should start taking care of it now. No more Target face wash.
- Less cursing. I should also work on improving my temper. Or at least learn to curse in French so it sounds more lady like 馃槈
- Check off another Continent. Hopefully we can travel again soon! Would love to see Africa or Asia.
- Do something that scares me. I survived Class 5 rapids in Alaska and zip lining in the Caribbean. Sometimes you have to remind yourself that you are capable or more than you give yourself credit for.
- Clean out contacts. I’m not sure why I had the Papa John’s phone number for every city I’ve ever lived in saved in my phone but it was past time to delete them. It’s also time to clear some people off of my social media accounts as well.
- Revamp my wardrobe. I love Forever 21 but I’m learning to invest in clothing that makes me feel confident and professional.
- Unplug. I’d like to try to go at least 48 hours without technology. If you know me you know how hard that would be!
- Explore Texas. I keep hearing about the Texas hill country and want to see what it’s all about. Maybe go float the river in New Braunfels.
- Learn a new skill. I’ve never learned to French braid. I also can’t crack an egg with one hand. Who knows what I could learn.
- Watch more movies. There are so many classics I haven’t seen.
- BLOG MORE. At least 25 posts this year! Hopefully more!
I’ve already got a good start on this list! Can’t wait to see how many I can get done. We are leaving for Oklahoma tomorrow. I can’t wait for the holidays! I also can’t wait to get our wedding photos this week!! I will do wedding and honeymoon posts soon with pictures 馃檪
